WHAT WE DO

Provision

Businesses have entrusted Wakefield BID to be the authoritative voice of the business community when liaising with statutory bodies such as the Council and Police. Our goal is to work collaboratively to improve Wakefield for everyone.

BUSINESS VOICE

Wakefield BID will continue to convene its Advisory Board, working closely with Wakefield Metropolitan District Council on transport, the High Street Task Force, and strategic issues that impact the improvement of the city centre. Our Board Directors and levy payers play an active role in supporting positive dialogue, sharing ideas and concerns, and promoting the bright future of Wakefield.

TRAINING

At Wakefield BID, we are committed to helping our business community thrive by offering free learning opportunities across a wide range of courses. From leadership and customer service to Office 365, mental wellness, communication, retail and hospitality, health and safety, and more, we cover over 200 subjects designed to enhance skills and boost business performance. These training opportunities are available to all levy payers, ensuring that businesses in Wakefield have access to the knowledge and tools needed to succeed.

COMMUNICATION AND PRESENCE

For all businesses and organisations in WF1, we will establish regular communications to keep everyone informed about developments in the city centre. This includes updates on available support, new events, and initiatives. Our communication will be delivered through physical business visits and our digital channels.

To further support our community, Wakefield BID has a central high street presence on Wood Street. This location ensures that we are accessible, approachable, and ready to respond to the needs of the businesses we serve.
