The search is on to find people with a passion for Wakefield to act as ambassadors for the city centre.
Two people are being recruited to work full time as Wakefield City BID Ambassadors providing street-based pro-active customer service welcoming, directing and advising the public as well as working with local businesses, building relationships and communicating with them on behalf of the BID.
They will also work with the BID’s partner organisations such as West Yorkshire Police and Wakefield Council.
Wakefield BID was successfully launched earlier this year with the aim of making the city a great place to do business and give the local economy a boost. Its five-year plan includes marketing the city to attract new visitors, creating cleaner safer streets, and making it more welcoming and accessible.
BID Manager Elizabeth Murphy explained the role will be ideally suited to people with busy customer service experience who are self-motivational and who have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
“Wakefield BID is about pride, passion and partnership and those are qualities we are looking for in our ambassadors. Successful applicants will find themselves out in our city centre, promoting it and helping visitors as well as liaising with retailers and leisure businesses, informing them about the BID and passing on their feedback,” she commented.
“Our ambassadors will be the face of Wakefield to our visitors while representing the BID to our levy payers so it is important they feel passionately about our city and want to contribute to its future.”
