The initiative was led by Wakefield BID (Business Improvement District).

Elizabeth Murphy, Manager of Wakefield BID, said: “If ever anyone wanted a great example of public and private sector companies and organisations coming together with one aim – to make a difference – then this was it. I am so moved by the response we had, the can-do attitude everyone brought and the results that just on day of working together delivered.

“It’s not changing the world, but it makes a positive difference to the businesses that trade here day in and day out – and to the visitors who make the trip into our vastly improving city centre. This is just a taste of the plans and ambition the BID has for Wakefield city centre with the backing of our levy payers, partners and supporters.”
