Event Details

Wakefield BID is proud to launch Safer Wakefield, an exciting new initiative designed to make our city centre a safer, stronger, and more vibrant place for everyone. This initiative brings together local businesses, Wakefield Council, West Yorkshire Police, and our community to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour head-on. Through a proactive partnership, Safer Wakefield aims to improve safety with real-time communication and intelligence-sharing.

We are thrilled to have Alison Lowe OBEDeputy Mayor for Policing and Crime (DMPC), attending our launch event. As a key advocate for safety across West Yorkshire, Alison’s involvement in this initiative is invaluable. She will be joining us to discuss the important work being done at a regional level to support safety initiatives like Safer Wakefield and how we can all collaborate to create a safer city.

Additionally, Yorkshire Business Crime Network, a vital partner in the initiative, will be there to explain how the radio and intelligence-sharing system works to help local businesses stay connected and protected.
