Panto Mice Take Over Wakefield in New City Centre Christmas Trail

Wakefield city centre has been taken over by a group of mischievous festive characters, as Wakefield BID and Theatre Royal Wakefield launch the brand-new Panto Mouse Trail for Christmas.

Thirteen specially designed pantomime mice have escaped into the city and are now hiding in shop windows and venues across Wakefield. Families are invited to explore the city, follow the free trail, and see if they can find them all.

Trail sheets can be picked up from The Ridings, WX (Wakefield Exchange) or the Wakefield BID Office, with a map showing all 13 locations. Once completed, sheets can be handed in at either The Ridings or WX for the chance to win four tickets to Theatre Royal Wakefield’s 2026 Pantomime.

The trail encourages families to enjoy Wakefield on foot, discover local businesses, and add a little Christmas magic to their visit.

Thomas Wales, Chief Executive of Wakefield BID, said:

“The Panto Mouse Trail is a fantastic way for families to explore Wakefield this Christmas. We’ve worked closely with Theatre Royal Wakefield and our businesses to bring something fun, creative and festive to the city. We want children and families to enjoy discovering new places while taking part in a completely free Christmas activity.”

The full list of participating businesses includes:
Malcolm Michaels, Morgana & Hellraiser, Love Sofa, Barnardo’s, Waterstones, Boots Opticians, Frank Bird, Café 19, Wah Wah Records, Wakefield Cathedral, Halifax, WH Retail and Cards Direct.
