Wakefield’s Rhubarb Festival Returns – Get Involved in 2025!

Wakefield’s Rhubarb Festival is back for 2025, and we’re inviting local businesses to join in the celebration from 21st–23rd February! Whether you’re a café, bar, restaurant, shop, or anything in between, there’s a way for everyone to take part in this exciting showcase of our city’s creativity and community spirit.

One of the festival’s standout attractions is the Rhubarb Food and Drink Trail, where businesses have the chance to create rhubarb-themed offerings and draw festival-goers to their venues. It’s the perfect opportunity to highlight your creativity and get involved in one of Wakefield’s most anticipated events of the year!

Want to Join the Trail?

Here’s what’s involved in being part of the Rhubarb Food and Drink Trail:

  • Create a rhubarb-themed food or drink item for your menu during the festival.
  • Submit your idea by 30th December 2024 (the earlier, the better).
  • Display a Rhubarb Trail poster to show you’re part of the action.
  • Promote the trail and festival to your customers to ensure a great turnout.
  • Provide feedback after the festival – let us know how it went for you!

What Else Is Happening?

There’s more to the festival than just the Food and Drink Trail! Here are some exciting opportunities to get involved:

  • Chef Demo: On Saturday, 22nd February, we have 45-minute slots available for Chef Demos. This is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate your culinary expertise and engage with an audience eager to learn.
  • Wakefield BID Cocktail Competition: Also on Saturday, 22nd February, join us at 3 pm for the Wakefield BID Cocktail Competition. It’s a fun event where you can showcase your mixology skills and compete to create the perfect rhubarb-inspired cocktail.
  • Window Competition: This year, we’re introducing a Window Display Competition to encourage local businesses to get creative. Decorate your windows with a rhubarb theme, and be in with a chance to win fantastic prizes while showcasing your involvement in the festival.

Planning Something Different?

Not in the food or drink industry? Don’t worry! If you’re planning a rhubarb-themed event, display, or promotion, we want to hear from you too. We’re here to help support your efforts and celebrate your creativity as part of the Rhubarb Festival.
