The Wakefield BID Awards return this autumn, shining a spotlight on the people, businesses, and organisations that make our city centre thrive.
Taking place on Thursday 23rd October 2025 at Wakefield Exchange (WX), the Awards have become one of the highlights of the business calendar – a night that blends recognition, community spirit, and celebration in true Wakefield style. Guests can look forward to live entertainment, fantastic food and drink, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow business owners and stakeholders.
Recognising the best of Wakefield
The Awards celebrate excellence across our city centre, from hospitality and retail to community impact and leadership. They are designed to recognise those who go above and beyond, making Wakefield vibrant, welcoming, and successful.
This year’s categories include:
- People and Community Champions – recognising those making a difference in the lives of others.
- Excellence in Hospitality – celebrating the venues and teams that create unforgettable experiences.
- Retail and Specialist Businesses – shining a light on the shops and services that bring unique value to the city.
- Citywide Impact and Recognition – honouring organisations that put Wakefield on the map.
Most categories are self-nominations, giving businesses the chance to showcase their own achievements. For Employee of the Year and Manager of the Year, we encourage everyone to put forward the people who go the extra mile.
