Wakefield is set to celebrate a magical and memorable Christmas season, as Wakefield BID delivers a city-wide programme of festive activities designed to support local businesses and bring the community together.
This year’s Christmas calendar includes competitions, trails, seasonal entertainment and family events spread throughout December, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere across the city.
Christmas Window Display Competition Returns
Wakefield businesses are once again transforming their windows for the much-loved Christmas Window Display Competition.
Judging will take place online via Wakefield BID’s social media, where residents can enjoy the creativity on display and show support for their favourite festive windows.
Best and Ugliest Christmas Jumper Competition
The much-loved Best and Ugliest Christmas Jumper Competition returns on Thursday 11 December.
Businesses can take part by emailing info@wakefieldbid.co.uk or keeping an eye out for the BID team, who will be walking around the city selecting winners.
Prizes include a trophy and a bottle of bubbly, adding a fun and light-hearted touch to Wakefield’s festive season.
Festive Events Across the City
Throughout December, Wakefield will host a variety of Christmas activities, including festive films, family entertainment, seasonal offers and plenty of Christmas atmosphere. These events aim to boost footfall, encourage exploration, and make Wakefield an attractive place to visit during the busiest trading period of the year.
