Wakefield BID are pleased to announce this Year’s Blockbuster Event, Jurassic Wakey – Back for another bite. 

This popular event has been extended to a 2-week period cumulating in a 2-day Dinasaur extravaganza in the Bull Ring, Wakefield City Centre. 

Roam the city centre discovering lifelike displays of prehistoric creatures from a time long forgotten , wander the city with our augmented reality app, revealing full size beasts roaming around corner of the centre city and then if you dare, come along to our Dinosaur spectacular on the 3rd & 4th September to see in all their glory these magical beasts at this totally free event during August and September.

Wakefield Library (https://www.wakefield.gov.uk/libraries-and-local-history/your-local-library/wakefield-library), Trinity Walk (https://www.trinitywalk.com)and The Ridings Centre (https://www.ridingscentre.com) are home the Dinosaur trail, visit and see some amazing, life like Dinosaurs, take a picture, post it on your social media, tag @wakefiedbid and use the hashtag #JurasicWakey to be in with a chance to win a Remote Control Realistic T-Rex Dinosaur Robot Walking and Roaring with LED Light

When: Saturday 3 September

Where: Bull Ring

11.00am – Baby Dinosaur meet and greet including a ride on Dinosaur experience

11.30am – Jurassic Rock

11.55am – Fire Show

12noon – Dinosaur Show

12.30pm until 1.40pm – Dinosaur rest time, please visit the local shops, bars and cafes and show your support

1.40pm to 2.00pm – Baby Dinosaur meet and greet

2.00pm to 2.45pm – Dinosaur rest time, please visit the local shops, bars and cafes and show your support

2.45pm – Jurassic Rock

3.15pm – Fire Show

3.20pm – Dino Show

3.40pm – Finish, don’t forget to visit the local shops, bars and cafes and show your support

There will be a separate area near the Cathedral with all the action live on a large screen for smaller children and families, with additional free face painting 11am – 3pm.
