Wakefield BID is proud to introduce James Roy as our new Street Ranger – your on-the-ground support for all things clean, safe, and welcoming in Wakefield city centre.
James joins us with a strong background in city maintenance and community support. His role is all about improving the day-to-day experience of Wakefield – whether you’re a visitor, shopper, or local business. You’ll find him out and about across the BID area working hard to keep our streets tidy, our public spaces looking their best, and supporting our levy payers wherever he can.
From jet washing and graffiti removal to friendly conversations and business check-ins, James plays a vital part in delivering Wakefield BID’s mission to make our city centre cleaner, safer and more vibrant.
Armed with an electric vehicle and professional-grade equipment, James tackles jobs that make a visible difference – including litter picking, fly-poster removal, shopfront touch-ups, and small maintenance tasks. He also acts as an extra pair of eyes and ears on the street, supporting our Safer Wakefield efforts by helping to deter low-level antisocial behaviour and guiding people where needed.
James said:
“I’m really excited to be working with Wakefield BID. I’ve already had some brilliant conversations with businesses, and I’m proud to play a part in making Wakefield a place people feel proud of. If you see me out and about – say hello!”
